Privacy Policy

We value your privacy. This policy explains how TabVault handles your data.

Last Updated: February 7, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to TabVault ("we," "our," or "us"). TabVault is a browser extension designed to help you organize tabs, capture ideas, and manage your research workspace. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.

2. Information Collection

TabVault is designed with a "local-first" philosophy.

  • Local Data: Your tabs, spaces, highlights, and notes are stored locally on your device using your browser's storage capabilities. We do not automatically sync this data to our servers unless you explicitly enable optional cloud features.
  • Authentication: If you choose to create an account to sync data across devices, we collect your email address and authentication credentials solely for the purpose of providing the sync service.
  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., number of active users) to help us improve the extension. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect strictly to provide and improve the TabVault service. Specifically:

To maintain your saved workspaces and preferences locally on your device.
To synchronize your data across devices (only if you opt-in).
To respond to your customer service requests and support needs.

4. AI Features & Data Privacy

TabVault includes AI-powered features for summarization and drafting. When you use these features, the specific text you select or the content of the tab you are summarizing is sent to our secure AI processing providers. This data is not used to train public models and is discarded after the request is processed. Use of AI features is optional.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, please also remember that the internet itself is not 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our services is at your own risk.

6. Third-Party Services

TabVault may contain links to other websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any websites you visit.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page. You are advised to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.
